Lennie Gale
Drums, Keyboard, Percussion & Vocals

1960's:      Studied Piano at "Scott's School of Music" and studied drums with Walt Goodwin of the
                   Los Angeles Philharmonics Orchestra.  Throughout the 60's, he played in several bands
                   like The Zekes and The Whiz Kids.
1966:         Started his first band with brother Kenny called The Dennells.  He released his first single
                   called, "Leavin' You."
1971:         Lennie signed and released a single with Mercury Records.  He then moved on to      
                   Discreet Records, (a subsidiary of Warner Bros) and released the single, "Ride Mama
                   Ride."
1973:         Toured with the Kathy Dalton Band and opened for famous acts such as Frank Zappa
                   and Tim Buckley.
1976:         Signed with Fantasy Records, (Creedence Clear Water's record label) and changed their
                   band's name to Gale Force.  Their self-titled album was produced by Wayne Henderson
                   of The Jazz Crusaders.  Their second album, "Gale Force 2," was produced by Michael
                   Stewart, producer for Billy Joel.  This album sold over 50,000 copies in the first 2 weeks
                   of it's release!  This resulted in Gale Force becoming the opening act for bands like
                   The Beach Boys, Chicago, Poco and others.
1980's:      Lennie did lots of session work, like doubling lead vocals on UFO album, playing drums
                   on the "Mimi Farina" album, (Joan Baez's sister) and other various known and well-  
                   known artists.
Present:    Lennie has been actively playing the LA club scene with various bands in different styles
                   including Funk, Rock 'n' Roll, Jazz and contemporary music.  His talent and experience
                   can be easily noticed as it enhances the sound of MLC in a big way.

 

 

 

 

 

 

Kenny Gale

1961-64:  Studied piano at Vivian Scott's School of music.
1964-67:  Studied guitar with Norman Nawahi, son of "King" (a famous guitarist).
1966:        From here on it's about the same as Lennie;  "The Dennells", his first band.
1967:        Joined "The Zekes," a four-piece Beatles type group.
1970:        Signed his first recording contract with Beverly Hills records as well as productions
                  agreements, copyright agreements with Fifth Floor Music and Third Story Publishing.  He
                  also joined BMI, and eventually ASCAP.  He also recorded his first single, "Leavin' You."
1973:        Toured with the "Kathy Dalton Band," opened concerts for Frank Zappa for one month.
                  Then, opened club gigs for Tim Buckly for two weeks in Atlanta, GA and Philadelphia.
1972-76:  Signed with Mercury records, released two singles.  He also signed with Discreet
                  Records, releasing one single.
1977:        Released his first album on Fantasy Records entitled, "Gale Force."
1978:        Released his second (and final) album called, "Gale Force Two."
1980-82:  Played the Orange County club circuit with lead vocalist Dawn Skiles (daughter of Skiles
                  & Henderson Comedy Duo.
1984-'95: Subbed in a band called "Restless" for lead guitarist who had a commitment to his 3
                   piece blues band.

 

 

 

 

 

 

Bram van Steenbergen
Bass Guitar, Lead "Surf" Guitar & Vocals

Bram started in 1963 playing drums in the Crusaders.  He took drum lessons from the then famous Dutch drummer John Engels Sr., who was guest drummer with the Duke Ellington Big Band.   He also took up classical drum training at the Royal Dutch Conservatory and later undertook guitar lessons with teacher, Al Bronkhorst.

 

Bram played throughout the sixties and toured extensively with bands like The Shane, The Scandals, Rank and others.  From 1970 to '72 he was drafted into the Dutch Infantry and played drums in the Dutch Royal Military Band.  From '72 to '85, Bram played as a session musician and during that time became a member of the Herbie Barnes Band in 1977.  In '85 he released an all-original vinyl LP with his current band, Idem Dito.  That album title was Idem Dito Facing Aquarius.
       

Beginning in 1985 to the present, Bram moved with his wife and kids to California as a bass player in bands such as The Reminders, Dave and the Classics, Breaking Point and Eric for Elvis Show.  It was in 1999, that Bram became a founding member of Mid Life Crisis.

 

 

 

Ken Bash
Vocals, Guitar, Bass & Keyboards

Ken grew up in Detroit back in the 60's where he played in such notable bands as the Mushrooms with Glenn Frey and the notorious Gang which helped spawn Ted Nugent and the Amboy Dukes.  As house band at the Grande Ballroom along with the MC5, the Gang shared the stage with the such notables as the Grateful Dead, Buddy Guy, Bob Seger and the Association.
 
Since moving to California in 2000, Ken has become involved in the South Bay music scene playing with the Sound Waves and the Vindicators. Ken has recently joined MLC and is looking forward to continuing their tradition for crisp 4 part harmonies and eclectic song selection.
